COLUMBUS—State Representative Anne Gonzales (R-Westerville) today honored the Gahanna Columbus Academy boys golf team on the House floor for winning the 2017 Division II State Championship.
Rep. Gonzales presented the team with a resolution for their eighth state title and second within the last four years. Their record for the 2017 year was 207 wins and 37 loses.
“It was great to honor these young men,” said Gonzales. “This was an impressive run by Columbus Academy. Not only did they win the state championship, but also they broke two records.”
The team, which boasts an impressive 3.55 GPA overall, was joined by their head coach, Craig Yakscoe, for the presentation.
